At Chichiltah-Jones Ranch Community School, we prioritize student health and well-being. When available, our school nurse and nurse’s assistant collaborate with staff, parents/guardians, and students to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

Student Illness Procedures

Students should stay home if they are sick. If a student becomes ill during the school day and cannot remain in class, the teacher will send them to the front office. Office staff will then contact the student’s parent or guardian to arrange pickup.

Medication Administration

Chichiltah-Jones Ranch Community School follows the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Medication Administration Policy. Parents/guardians must provide written authorization and deliver medications in their original containers. Medications will be stored securely and administered by trained staff. For more details, please refer to the full BIE policy.

Medical Emergencies

In a medical emergency, Chichiltah-Jones Ranch Community School will transport the student to the nearest health facility or hospital. The school will notify the parent or guardian as soon as possible, and a staff member will stay with the student until the parent or guardian arrives.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Chichiltah-Jones Ranch Community School promotes positive behavior through our PBIS program. We recognize students who demonstrate academic success, good behavior, and consistent attendance each quarter.
