Admission Requirements

All prospective students are subject to an administrative records review before admission. To enroll, a parent or guardian must accompany the student and ensure the following requirements are met:

  • Immunization Records: Students must provide up-to-date immunization records. Immunizations must comply with Indian Health Service or state standards.
  • Tribal Membership: Applicants must demonstrate membership in a federally recognized Tribe and provide a Certificate of Indian Blood.
  • Birth Certificate: A birth certificate or equivalent documentation establishing guardianship or parentage is required.
  • Transcripts and Test Data: All students must submit current transcripts, including grades, credits, attendance and state or EL test data.
  • Out-of-Boundary Students: Students residing outside school attendance boundaries must have out-of-boundary waivers approved by the school board.
  • Medical Disclosure: Students must notify the principal or registrar of known medical conditions, including food allergies, upon admission. This information will be shared with appropriate staff, and referrals to the school’s Section 504 Coordinator will be made as necessary.
  • Transfer Students:
    • Transfer students must enroll within the first 10 days of the fall or spring semester.
    • Transfers are subject to administrative approval and space availability within the proposed schedule or grade.

Conditions for Enrollment

  • Students with Disciplinary Histories: Students currently under suspension or disciplinary proceedings or with a history of expulsion for criminal offenses, violent behavior, or substance abuse violations must participate in documented counseling sessions before enrollment. These sessions review school expectations and address concerns.
    • Suspensions and expulsions must be cleared with the previous school before enrollment.
  • Health and Safety Risks: Enrollment may be denied to students who pose a direct threat to the health, safety, or welfare of staff, students, or themselves. Appeals may be made following the school’s appeal process.
